Tanha. Tanha" (तृष्णा, Taṇhā) means the desire for life, or the craving for existence.  This is also the origin word for dance.   A woman meets her younger self—her inner side, the Shadow. Through their interaction, the girl realizes her deep longing for dance and relearns how she once used to express herself through it. She finally feels liberated from the burden of reality. However, it was merely a delusion. All along, she had not been dancing with someone else but alone. The past can never return.

2nd place

Rachael Lee 11 (KIS)

WKTKF, TKFWK: In South Korea, a funeral typically lasts about three days, as per tradition. 'wktkf, tkfwk' (자살, 살자) follows the protagonist, Emily, as she reunites with her childhood best friend. The reunion occurs over two days, and as they spend more time together, the two explore the concepts of life and death, and what it means to live. Although Emily believes she has given up already, Alex reminds Emily that life is ephemeral, and to appreciate what she has. On the third day, Emily is faced with reality again as she awakens from her dream with Alex. She resolves to change, and the first step to doing so is wearing a pair of brand new shoes that Alex had gifted her the year before, rather than worn out ones that often signal suicidal thoughts.

3rd place

Ian Kim 11  (SIS)

‘The Stink’ is an experimental short film that confronts the issue of food waste through misdirection and metaphor. The protagonist criticizes his father’s smoking habit, yet contributes harm through his own careless food habits. Every scene, from dialogue to background detail, is layered with this paradox. Disguised as a smoking awareness film, it challenges viewers to pay attention to the hidden signs of food waste—just as society must do with overlooked issues like food waste.  The film also urges viewers to "love" their food, revealing that neglect, whether through smoke or waste, carries same consequences.
